Summary
Travis Mills is a self-advocate with the primary goal of helping individuals with disabilities become more independent and included in their communities. Travis has been a strong advocate for people with disabilities since becoming an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) in 2009. He is a graduate of Βι¶ΉΣ³» Partners in Policymaking, Class in 2010 and has served as Chapter Advisor and Officer for People First of Βι¶ΉΣ³», Statewide Board, and both the Reno and Carson City Chapters. Travis has served on numerous Committees and Boards advocating for people with disabilities. He has testified at the Βι¶ΉΣ³» Legislature, Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) and provided input at many other local and statewide committee meetings. He was recently selected to serve on the Βι¶ΉΣ³» Department of Education’s Special Education Advisory Committee. Travis has extensive knowledge of current technology including numerous computer programs and assistive technology devices. He is employed by the Βι¶ΉΣ³» Center for Excellence in Disabilities as an Administrative Faculty member working on the Youth Healthcare Transition Project with Diana Rovetti and is the staff photographer.
