Eighth-grade students in Reno-Sparks to visit the University campus on March 6

RENO, Nev. — More than 135 students from middle schools in the Reno-Sparks community will visit the ΒιΆΉΣ³» campus on March 6 as part of the pilot program, Joining the Pack. “We’re trying to get these students excited about college earlier than high school,” the University Multicultural Center Indigenous Student Coordinator Markie Wilder said. “We have found that students that begin to think about and start planning for college in middle school are more likely to attend college after high school graduation.”

During their visit, the students will tour the campus, meet different faculty and administrative members and participate in activities with various campus organizations like the Associated Students of the University of ΒιΆΉΣ³» (ASUN), Counseling Services and the Multicultural Center.
