Join OLLI for a free event – Life and Hope in the Aftermath of the Holocaust

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the Â鶹ӳ»­ presents Day of Remembrance 2025: Life and Hope in the Aftermath of the Holocaust. This event will focus on survivors’ journeys to rebuild their lives after the trauma of the Holocaust and how the trauma impacted their descendants.

The event will begin with a welcome and introduction to the evening by Judith Schumer, co-chair, Holocaust Day of Remembrance.

Location: Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, 3800 S. Virginia St., Reno

The featured speaker will be Dr. Harold Koplewicz, an internationally known child and adolescent psychiatrist. He is the founder and president of the nonprofit Child Mind Institute and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology. Koplewicz has written several books and has edited or authored more than 65 peer-reviewed articles and chapters on child and adolescent psychiatry. The son of Holocaust survivors, he is an expert on survivors’ experiences and the intergenerational transmission of Holocaust trauma.

The event is sponsored by the Â鶹ӳ»­ Governor’s Advisory Council on Education Relating to the Holocaust, Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, Jewish Â鶹ӳ»­ and at the Sanford Center for Aging, part of the Â鶹ӳ»­ School of Medicine.
