Students in the Honors College at the Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ may be eligible to join or be selected for honor societies, including Phi Kappa Phi and the Golden Key International Honour Society. Learn more about each group below.

Phi Kappa Phi

Chapter #008 was chartered and installed at the Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ in Reno, Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ in 1912. Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest, most selective and most prestigious all-discipline honor society sets high standards for membership. The Βι¶ΉΣ³»­'s top 7.5 percent of second term juniors and top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students are invited each year to join.

Golden Key International Honour Society

The Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ chapter was chartered on April 29, 1990. Awarded a Gold standing, the chapter participates in community service, literacy events, and the practice of good leadership skills. The Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ Golden Key chapter is a part of U.S. Region 8, which includes institutions in Arizona, California, Hawai’i, Βι¶ΉΣ³»­, Oregon, and Washington. Golden Key is the world's largest collegiate honor society. Membership into the Society is by invitation only and applies to the top 15 percent of college and university sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as top-performing graduate students in all fields of study, based solely on their academic achievements.
