Meet the Honors College Student Council Executive Board

Yajahira Dircio, President

Senior, Microbiology and Immunology (Major)

I serve as the President of the Honors College Student Council. I aim to increase the sense of community and belonging within Honors College. As a representative of the Honors students, I will listen to the voices of my fellow peers and work to make a difference as a liaison between students and Honors faculties. I will also introduce various opportunities for students to help the community.

Yajahira Dircio, Vice President

Senior, Biotechnology (Major), Microbiology and Immunology (Major)

I serve as the Vice President of the Honors College Student Council. I aim to create connections between the Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ Honors College with other Honors Colleges in the region as well as increase candidacy/voter turnout for council elections. I help the President in any way I can to achieve the goal of growing the Honors College. I help bring new ideas by sending out student surveys to hear from Honors Students.

Nandini Naidu, Secretary

Sophomore, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Major)

I serve as the Secretary of the Honors College Student Council. I plan to ensure effective communication throughout the Student Council and distribute information in a timely manner. I will play a key role in implementing the Honors pillars of resilience, ingenuity, stewardship, and equity to help support fellow Honors students and continue to create a positive impact on the Honors community.

Nikhil Boaz (Bobby), Treasurer

Junior, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Major)

I serve as the Treasurer of the Honors College Student Council, which I also served for the previous term. I look for opportunities to raise money for the Council to ultimately allow the Student Council to be able to support Honors students through events, funds, and grants. I envision the Honors College as a tight-knit community of outstanding students and exceptional faculty working toward a successful future for both the students and the Honors College as a whole.

Celeste Robles, Director of Events

Sophomore, Mechanical Engineering (Major)

I serve as the Director of Events of the Honors College Student Council. I hope to host events for Honors students to attend and make connections with one another, and create spaces where students enjoy their time to collaborate with other organizations to be able to supply resources to Honors Students.

Suebin Hur, Director of Public Relations

Sophomore, Information Systems (Major); Economics (Minor)

I serve as the Director of Public Relations for the Honors College Student Council. I promote events through social media and communicate with the Honors College staff and graduate assistants. I design flyers to be posted on Honors College Student Council Instagram. I aim to increase attendance at events and to present Honors College as a fun and welcoming environment.

Jack AuCoin, Director of Public Engagement

Senior, Political Science (Major); History and Spanish (Minor)

I serve as the Director of Public Engagement of the Honors College Student Council. I manage volunteering and community service opportunities for the Honors students. My goal is to increase the number of these opportunities not only with the Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ but also with the City of Reno and the surrounding area. These opportunities are not only meant to benefit the organizations but also the Honors students by gaining experience.
