Â鶹ӳ» women’s basketball proudly celebrates Native American Heritage Month, recognizing student-athletes and alumna who represent the Great Basin Tribes of Â鶹ӳ». Â鶹ӳ» has worked with the Office of Indigenous Relations on various events, cultural activities and programs throughout the month.
The Nugget Classic, which will be hosted Nov. 29-31 at the Lawlor Events Center, will celebrate with a drum group and dancers performance, recognition of McDermitt High School Native Youth Community Project Coordinator Darla Camas, who has been an educator for over 25 years, and a flag song presentation, at each game that Â鶹ӳ» plays in.
