The College of Science held its annual video competition with an added watch party engagement challenge for students. The videos are two minutes or less in length and the competition is open to all students in the College of Science. This year’s themes were:
- Life a life of discovery
- The science of everyday life
- Making science simple: the importance of science communication
- Breaking barriers: diversity in STEM
- Science saves the world
Prizes were awarded to each of the top three videos. The first place video won $400, the second place video won $300 and the third place video won $200. Two honorable mentions each won $100. The most engaged watch party won a $100 gift card. Students were encouraged to watch the videos virtually in COVID-safe groups.

The winners of this year's video competition are all members of the College of Science Living Learning Community. They include chemistry undergraduate Dylan Friend, neuroscience undergraduates Brian Guthrie and Jake Tack, and Divij Kodi, a biology undergraduate. In their video, a curious student finds a new way to answer his questions.
Watch party competition
Students submitted photos of their virtual watch party to be shared on the College’s Instagram, with the most liked photo winning the competition. Lexi Young (and her cat) received the most likes on her photo.
