Free June 6 performance by β€œΕšlΔ…sk” is open to the public

The University Quad with a green lawn, trees and Mackay School of Earth Science in view.

The Polish National Song and Dance Ensemble, “ŚlΔ…sk,” will perform on June 6 on the ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ campus in the Nightingale Concert Hall. The event serves as a welcome celebration to Polish representatives visiting Reno for a trade and cultural mission. It also recognizes the efforts of the country to welcome more than 3 million Ukrainian refugees since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022.

Admission to the performance is free and open to the public. The doors will open at 6 p.m., and the event will begin at 7 p.m., with a welcome from University President Brian Sandoval.

The visiting representatives, including the members of the “ŚlΔ…sk” ensemble, come from Poland’s province of ŚlΔ…skie. The group, led by the province’s Marshal Jakub Chetstowski, is visiting ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ to sign a memorandum of understanding with the State of ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ related to business and trade cooperation.

Members of the University and larger Reno-Sparks community are encouraged to attend the performance to show their solidarity with Poland and its support of Ukrainian refugees. Interested individuals can also help Ukrainian refugees by donating to the .
