Contemporary music online database added to the University Libraries' collection.

The has recently added the database to its collections. This new music-focused resource is a French-based database that provides new music composed during the last 40 years from around the globe. BabelScores is the most extensive, continually growing online music library of contemporary music. Included in the databases are works by ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ Music faculty member Jean-Paul Perrotte.

University students, faculty, and staff can access complete digitized music scores and streaming audio recordings of works by several contemporary composers. Users may browse by composer name or date, or search by performing forces, publisher, world region, and technical difficulty. BabelScores features a virtual music-score reader with a zoom and full-screen options plus biographies of the composers.

Visitors checked-out more than 90,000 items and completed more than 2 million database searches.
