Performance Review includes 55 minutes with accomplished artist educators. During this time, the group performs selections of its own choice and receives on-the-spot coaching and feedback immediately afterward. Groups will receive a recording of their performance that includes the artist educators’ comments.
In addition, all participants can vie for a spot in the Festival Showcase, experience improv while playing with the talented house band(s) during the Jam Session(s), expand their jazz horizons at clinics and daytime concerts led by experts in the field, and watch captivating superstars in concert.
Online group registration and payment of group registration fees must be received before a group is accepted into the Festival. Group registrations will be accepted until two weeks before the Festival or until the Festival is full (whichever is sooner).
Individual passes
All participants and attendees must purchase a Festival Pass to enter any day events (performance rooms, day concerts, and day clinics). Festival passes can be purchased separately from a registration order.
Categories
Eligible students may participate in the following categories:
- Band: 10 or more performers
- Combo: 2 to 9 performers
- Choir: 10 or more performers
- Choirs are encouraged but not required to use student rhythm section players. You may also use professional musicians.
Refund policy
Group registration refund
- Now-Feb. 29: Receive a full refund with the exception of a $50 processing fee per group registration.
- March 1-April 7: All groups will be charged a 50% cancellation fee per group registration.
- Out-of-State: $132.50 cancellation fee per group
- In-state: $115 cancellation fee per group
- Title I: $100 cancellation fee per group
- April 8-28: No refunds for group registrations and passes.
