University student body president Anthony Martinez sends a shout out to students from his home in Las Vegas

Hello Wolf Pack, it’s your Student Body President, currently, Anthony Martinez.

I’m here in my hometown, Las Vegas, Â鶹ӳ». It is a little bit windy, so I just wanted to give you a bit of context of what’s going on here.

What’s also going on here is every single day, I like to just play with my dogs. I think that's the first thing I like to do in the morning. And after that I do a quick workout, trying to get energized. I’m always checking out the Â鶹ӳ»Strong page. So shout out to them. And then I do anything else that is necessary.

Once I’m done with that, I go ahead an eat, start to get ready for work via Zoom. So you know, business in the front, party down below. And after that, I get ready to go to class. Today, that didn’t go so well. I will admit, I may have slept through. So I think, what I learned from there, is, you know, to apologize to my professor.

But to also try to schedule all my naps, hopefully, set a timer for that as well. And also to get enough sleep. So meaning, I need probably to set some ad blockers up and app blockers and try to have enough time to accomplish everything. And finally, at the end of the day, I usually like to call a friend and ask them how they’re doing and what their Zoom class was like.

And I also send that follow-up email to that professor saying, “I'm so sorry that I slept through lecture.” But I think its also important to keep communication with them and everything they are doing at the University.

Best of luck this semester, Wolf Pack. You can let me or any of your elected officials know if you need anything. We’re more than happy to advocate on your behalf. And also, we’re here to listen to your concerns as well. I know this is a huge transitioning process. I’m also in the process. And I think it’s important also, you know, to inform us of what is going on. And we’re here and ready to advocate for you whether it’s elected officials, your professors or different administrators. So hope you are having a great one and best of luck.
