Collegiate Academy applications
Students must attend a participating Collegiate Academy high school to be eligible for enrollment, and enrollment in Collegiate Academy courses is open to high school students who are current juniors and seniors.
Completing an application for admission to the Collegiate Academy only takes a few minutes of your time. The online application guides you step-by-step through the process and only requires basic information about you and your academic history. No essays or fees are required.
Steps to create and submit your application for admission
Applications for admission are submitted via the University's .
After entering the required registration information, you will receive an automatic email with a temporary registration PIN. When you receive your PIN, you can complete the registration process that allows you to access your online application for admission.
The will guide you through your online application specific to your student type. Select "Collegiate Academy" in the application type menu.
Once finished, verify your information and click the “Finalize application” button (link) to proceed.
Steps within the application
There are just six short steps to completing an application.
- Step 1: Create your registration account (for best practices, use a personal, not school email address)
- Step 2: Provide your personal information (e.g., address, contact information)
- Step 3: Provide your emergency contact information
- Step 4; Provide your academic history (e.g., high school(s) attended)
- Step 5: Provide an electronic signature
- Step 6: Verify information and submit your application
Once you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email. Check your spam folder if not received and mark unr.edu as a safe sender to ensure future receipt of emails. An email containing your NSHE ID and student portal activation information will be sent 24 to 48 hours after submitting the application.
Your Βι¶ΉΣ³» System of Higher Education (NSHE) student ID number is a 10-digit number you will need to reference during your time at the Βι¶ΉΣ³». Be sure to keep this information in a safe place.
Once you receive the communication with your NSHE ID and Application number, you will use that to activate your account. MyNEVADA is your student portal where you can view your course enrollments and access your student records, see your application status, access personal records and more..
To activate your MyNEVADA account you will need the following:
- First name
- Last name
- Application Number or SSN (if you listed it on your application)
- NSHE ID

If you are having trouble activating your MyNEVADA account, you can review the , email mynevada@unr.edu, or call the Office of Admissions and Records at (775) 784-4700, and selection option 2.
In addition to the email containing your NSHE ID, you will also receive an email communication from our Office of Information Technology (OIT) with information on how to activate your NetID. Your NetID is your unique username and password used to access systems such Canvas (where you'll complete items for your classes).
How to activate your NetID
To begin the process, you'll need your NSHE ID number.
- Visit the Identity Portal. To activate your NetID, please go to the , select Activate my NetID, and follow the instructions.
- Create password. During the activation process, you will be asked to create a password. You will use this password anytime you use your NetID username.
Once the activation process is completed, you will be given your NetID username. Once you receive your NetID username, you will be able to use it immediately on most University systems after completing a two-step multi-factor authentication (via a code sent via text message or email).
