Career exploration tools
The following resources are available to students and can be used as modules and assignments for your courses.
CareerExplorer by Sokanu
is an online platform that matches student's interests, strengths, and passions with various career paths and job information.
When students complete the online assessment, they receive the following:
- Personality report
- Trait report (in-depth summary of the personality report)
- Career recommendations
Faculty can assign projects for students to reflect on their results of their reports and research career recommendations.
What Can I Do With This Major
Developed by the University of Tennessee's Center for Career Development, helps students learn about careers within their major, employers in their industries, and skills and qualifications required for the career. Note: This is a generic list. Some of the majors offered at the Βι¶ΉΣ³» may not be listed.
Faculty can create a research assignment for students to review different careers, interests, and skills.
Big Interview
This online platform allows students to practice interviews at their own pace. Big Interview has a wide variety of general, behavioral, and technical questions. Faculty can utilize Big Interview by creating mock interview assignments that can be reviewed and graded.
Here’s how to set up your Big Interview account as faculty:
- Go to and click Register.
- Enter your name and University email address. Create a password and click Create my Account.
Once you create an account, please email nvcareerstudio@unr.edu to request access as an Organizational Admin.
