The University Writing & Speaking Center conducts over 2,000 sessions a semester. While we do our best to see every student who drops-in, appointments are recommended. We see our biggest demand during midterms and finals, so plan accordingly.
UWSC appointments are 45 minutes in length. Undergraduate students may receive up to one 45-minute appointment each day the Writing & Speaking Center is open. This policy applies to all schedules.
Graduate students may use a total of 3.75 hours of support a week, which can be used in 45-minute to 1.5 hours (two 45-minute appointments) blocks of time.
Many writing & speaking projects may require and/or benefit from scheduling multiple sessions with a consultant.

All students who visit the University Writing Center are expected to participate in the consultation. If you have additional questions regarding these policies, please contact us at (775) 784-6030.
