Events

The Golden Scholars program hosts events every semester in order to help first-generation students engage with peers, mentors and faculty members. Building a sense of community and providing comprehensive support are both integral components of Golden Scholars' mission.

  • In September 2022, the Golden Scholars launch event took place in DMSC, hosted by College of Science advisors. The event gave students more information about what they can expect from the program (and provided them with some delicious nachos).
  • Students at the Golden Scholars launch event participated in an icebreaker activity, and the winners got to line up for their nachos first.
  • College of Science advisors gave a presentation about Golden Scholars to help students better understand the benefits of and resources provided by the program.
