Summary
Allison began her career with the Graduate Student Association in 2016 and enjoys working in higher education and, in particular, with graduate students. Within her role at the Graduate Student Association, she is responsible for helping to see event planning and execution, as well as assisting with Social Media/Marketing and is responsible for GSA Student Highlight Articles.
Allison keeps the meeting minutes of all GSA Council Meetings, handles the GSA Travel award for graduate students and liaisons between various departments on campus and the Graduate Student Association. She works closely with Senior Advisor Dr. Matthew Aguirre and the GSA Executive Council to ensure that daily operations are carried out smoothly.
Originally from a small farming community known as Slocomb, Alabama, Allison relocated to Reno, Βι¶ΉΣ³» in 2011 for graduate school after completing her B.S. in Human Services/Criminal Justice from Troy University in Troy, Alabama. She completed her field practicum with the youth mentoring program, Big Brothers Big Sisters, focusing on children whose parents were incarcerated. Allison also attended several conferences for the Alabama Department of Social Work at Auburn University. Allison earned her M.S. in Justice Management from the Βι¶ΉΣ³» with a professional project focusing on initiatives in student campus safety. Allison is also pursuing an M.Ed. in Elementary Education here at the University.
When not working, Allison enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and their daughters, Blakely, Reagan, and Autumn Brooke.
