Insurance guide for construction consultants

All consultants providing professional services (including any design, geotechnical surveys, commissioning services, special inspections and materials testing) to the University must carry insurance. For full insurance requirement information, please contact us.

Named certificate holder and additional insured

In all cases, proof of insurance must be produced in certificates with the Certificate Holder named exactly as shown below:

If the specific project name is not included on the certificate provided, the certificate can be kept on file for future work unless/until the certificates have expired. The Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ System of Higher Education (NSHE) must be named as Additional Insured on the certificate  with the accompanying endorsement document included.

Insurance guidelines

Contract is Under $100,000

  • Commercial General Liability: $2 Million Aggregate / $1 Million per Occurrence
  • Professional Liability: $2 Million Aggregate / $1 Million per Occurrence
  • Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability: Statutory Limits for Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ (or Affidavit)

Contract is $100,000+

  • Commercial General Liability: $3 Million Aggregate / $1 Million per Occurrence
  • Professional Liability: $3 Million Aggregate / $1 Million per Occurrence
  • Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability: Statutory Limits for Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ (or Affidavit)
