Town Hall follow up, recording available and more information to come

To Our University Community:

During yesterday’s online town hall meeting, I along with a number of administrators stressed that the University will follow a number of safety precautions and protocols as students, faculty and staff begin to gradually return to campus over the coming weeks and months. For the moment, based on the most current directives from Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ Gov. Steve Sisolak and Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ System of Higher Education Chancellor Thom Reilly, the University remains in an alternative operations mode — most employees will continue to work remotely, buildings are closed, classes and instruction remain online until July 10, on campus work authorization is required, per NSHE instructions.

The University has implemented a phased approach for a safe and strategic return to campus with a number of policies and procedures, outlined during yesterday’s “Planning for the Return of the Pack” Town Hall. Although we remain in an alternative operations mode through May 30 or until further notice, the University’s Issues Management Team, working with the Recovery Working Group, is actively planning a safe and measured recovery plan for campus operations for students, faculty and staff. The University’s goal remains to return to campus in phases, working toward resumption of in-person instruction, campus housing and athletics events for second session summer school and fall semester. There will be more town hall meetings planned and information forthcoming from Human Resources about employee training courses, PPE supplies, daily self-assessment, policies, procedures and more. All of the University’s recovery planning will continue to be done with the health, safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff as our top priority.
