Message to students
Mar. 24, 2020
This message was sent to Βι¶ΉΣ³» students.
We are writing to inform you of three important developments that will provide you with some certainty and allow you to plan accordingly.
Online course delivery
First, the University’s credit courses will continue to be delivered remotely for the remainder of the semester. If Governor Sisolak lifts the Stay Home for Βι¶ΉΣ³» order at any time before then the University will maintain remote delivery of courses through the Spring semester. No decisions regarding remote delivery of courses have been made for Summer or Fall terms.
Computer loans
Second, the University is loaning out laptops to students needing a computer to access your courses for the remainder of the semester. We have a limited number of loaner laptops and are distributing them to students on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are interested, please by Friday March 27 at 5 p.m. We will be contacting you once we receive your application and depending on laptop availability will arrange with you either the on-campus pick up or mail delivery of the laptop.
Commencement
Third, is the hardest decision the University leadership had to make regarding commencement. Given current governmental directives and an overarching concern for everyone’s health and safety, the University will not be able to hold in-person commencement ceremonies in May. Commencement is not cancelled. Our regularly scheduled commencements for Spring 2020 will occur in virtual fashion. In this way the celebration of our graduates’ achievements may be accessed safely by family and friends from any where in the world. More information will be forthcoming.
Please continue to read your emails and check the University’s coronavirus information page for up to the minute information as well as access to a vast array of services provided to you through remote delivery.
