Nutrition & Dietetics Leadership Award
The Nutrition & Dietetics Leadership Award honors professionals who, through their vision, influence, and persistence, create change that positively impacts the nutritional health of Â鶹ӳ»ns.
We are pleased to announce that the recipient of this award for 2020 is Marsha Read. Read assumed multiple leadership roles during her 45 years of service to the Â鶹ӳ». Examples of those that had a significant and lasting impact on the nutritional health of Â鶹ӳ»ns include serving as director of the Dietetic Program; developing and ultimately earning accreditation of the state’s first Dietetic Internship Program; helping to establish the Department of Nutrition; developing the state’s first Nutrition Graduate Program; serving as chair of the Nutrition Department; and assuming several leadership roles for the Â鶹ӳ» Dietetic Association, including president. When Read retired from the University, she was serving as vice provost for graduate education and dean of the Graduate School. In honor of Read, this award will hereafter be named the Marsha Read Leadership Award in Nutrition & Dietetics.
