The Extension Award of Excellence for Program Staff recognizes outstanding staff who exemplify the University's standards for excellence and innovation; whose efforts have inspired and supported the performance and achievement of others; and who show exemplary individual achievement, contribution and performance in their jobs and other related duties beyond their own offices.
Crystal Momii was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor's degree in education. She started her career with Â鶹ӳ» Extension in 2001, and today she continues her work as part of the Health & Nutrition Department of the Extension office in Clark County. She serves as the Extension liaison to the Chefs for Kids Foundation, and she works with an extraordinary team that educates elementary school students in Clark, Washoe and Lincoln Counties about the importance of nutrition and physical activity. Additionally, she conducts wellness meetings with and helps the wellness coordinators of 26 schools in Clark County. Crystal is an avid audiobook listener. In fact, it is rare to see her without headphones in place when she is not teaching or working with her team. Overall, Crystal extends herself into her Extension work and the colleagues, schools and communities she serves, and her work ensures students are well-nourished, physically active and ready to learn.
