Summary
Kanishka is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Βι¶ΉΣ³» Bioinformatics Center, where he is interested in advancing single-cell multi-omics research. He is passionate about bridging biology and bioinformatics by combining analytical rigor with creative problem-solving to address complex biological questions. His expertise spans proteogenomics, next-generation omics, and microbiome research, where he applies computational and statistical methods to uncover novel biological mechanisms, identify biomarkers, and enhance understanding of disease processes.
Kanishka completed his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, a colloborative program between the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. His doctoral research focused on the development of a reproducible workflow for proteogenomics research by integrating genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics data. Kanishka earned his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Microbiology from the Vijaygarh Jyotish Ray College, affiliated to the University of Calcutta.
Outside of the lab, you can find Kanishka enjoying a wide variety of outdoor activities, especially hiking and camping. He also has a passion for watercolor illustrations and photography.
