Understanding Reverse Transfer
If you transferred from a Βι¶ΉΣ³» college or community college to the Βι¶ΉΣ³» without completing an associate degree, reverse transfer allows you to transfer University credits to your former community college to fulfill associate degree requirements. This enables you to receive both a bachelor's and associate degree while taking courses at the University. To be eligible for reverse transfer, you must have completed at least 15 credits at the community college and accumulated at least 60 college-level credits between both institutions.
To initiate a reverse transfer:
- Inform your University academic advisor that you intend to earn an associate degree via reverse transfer.
- Discuss the reverse transfer process with your community college’s academic advisor.
- When required, provide a copy of your University transcript to your community college.
- Review any outstanding associate degree requirements with your advisor and explore using upper-division courses to fulfill associate degree requirements.
- Once the associate’s degree is posted on the community college’s transcript, mail or email an official copy to the University and inform your University advisor of your associate’s degree completion.
