Recognizing, facilitating and promoting research, scholarship and innovation

The Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) was constituted by the Board of Regents in 1984. Originally established in the College of Arts and Science, CAS was expanded to a University-wide organization in 2003. The purpose of the Center is to recognize, facilitate and promote research, scholarship and innovation at the Βι¶ΉΣ³»­. CAS Fellows are the recipients of the Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ Outstanding Researcher of the Year Award and of the Βι¶ΉΣ³»­ Established Innovator Award. Since 1975 the Researcher of the Year Award has been presented annually to one of the top researchers at Βι¶ΉΣ³»­; the Established Innovator Award began in 2015 and recognizes faculty members who translate research and scholarship into innovation, commercialization, and entrepreneurship.
