ACE Internationalization Lab

“There is an urgent need to prepare the next generation of global citizens so that they can help resolve the challenges we face on a local, national and global level. With the assistance of the ACE internationalization lab, the Â鶹ӳ» will lay the foundation for a more equitable and prosperous community by encouraging everyone to see a broader vision for themselves and others around the world." President Brian Sandoval

The state of Â鶹ӳ»’s economy has been steadily changing. As both the tourism and the technology sector have grown it has become increasingly important for Â鶹ӳ» business, institutions and our workforce focus to situate themselves within a global economy. For the Â鶹ӳ» to be poised not only to train that workforce, but also facilitate international relationships through research and collaboration and create pathways for faculty and students to identify opportunities for growth, our university joined a cohort of 13 institutions in the ACE Internationalization LAB.

What is the ACE Internationalization Lab?

The Â鶹ӳ» is part of a cohort of 13 institutions participating in the American Council on Education (ACE)’s Internationalization Laboratory program:

  • Augustana College
  • Bentley University
  • Bryant University
  • Bucknell University
  • College of Saint Benedict & Saint John's University
  • Education New Zealand
  • Louisiana State University
  • Middle Tennessee State University
  • Minnesota State University, Mankato
  • Pomona College
  • Saint Norbert College
  • University of Central Florida
  • Â鶹ӳ»

Participating in the ACE Lab makes the University one of more than 175 institutions that made a serious and sustainable commitment to internationalization.

The ACE Lab program is an 18-22 month process during which institutions partner with ACE experts and cohort universities to undertake a comprehensive internationalization process. As defined by ACE, comprehensive internationalization is a "strategic, coordinated framework that seeks to align and integrate policies, programs, initiatives, and individuals to position colleges and universities to be more globally oriented and internationally connected."
