Summary
Alexander Sigmon is a graduate student enrolled in the Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology (CMPP) Program as well as the School of Medicine. He received his B.S. in neuroscience and psychology from Johns Hopkins University in 2020. His research area of interest involves studying the nature of synapses in the human nervous system, and specifically how defects in these synapses may contribute to neurogenerative disease. Alex has experience in basic science research, studying degenerative brain diseases, as well as medical education and teaching. As a representative of the Graduate Student Association, Alex wants to ensure that student voices are heard by the GSA, and that the GSA can communicate effectively with the student body. He hopes to create an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone within the Graduate School while promoting the welfare and interests of the students.
