Community climate survey
The Geoscience Community at the Βι¶ΉΣ³», comprised of the Department of Geological Sciences and Engineering, the Βι¶ΉΣ³» Bureau of Mines and Geology, the Βι¶ΉΣ³» Seismological Laboratory, and other affiliated individuals and organizations, conducts an annual community climate survey of its students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. Past and current surveys are designed around issues of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice, but we welcome any and all feedback. All answers are anonymous and results are reported in aggregate to avoid the release of any potentially identifying information. If you have questions or concerns about these surveys, please email our Geoscience For All Committee Chair, Kyren Bogolub, for more information.
Questions in this survey are part of an annual community climate survey conducted by Βι¶ΉΣ³» Geosciences (the Department of Geological Sciences and Engineering, the Βι¶ΉΣ³» Bureau of Mines and Geology and the Βι¶ΉΣ³» Seismological Laboratory) and other affiliated individuals and organizations. The survey is organized by the Geoscience for All (GFA) committee.
To help ensure anonymity, the names or emails of the responders will not be collected. Raw data (i.e., the data for individual responses) will only be viewed by our climate survey committee consisting of Maia Zhang, Dominik Vlaha, and Kyren Bogolub. This committee will review all data and comments, aggregate the data for collective viewing, and summarize themes that emerge from individual comments. Comments made from individuals will not be publicly available, and all reported data will be anonymized. To see examples of how the data will be reported, please visit our 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 climate survey results. Note that this year's survey has a different focus than previous years.
Participate in the 2025 community impact survey
We, the Geoscience Community at the Βι¶ΉΣ³», would like to get feedback from our members on any impacts they have experienced resulting from current events personally or professionally—both in terms of mental well-being and the practical, everyday aspects of life. We hope to use the answers to this survey to inform department, College and University leadership of the experiences of department members. All data is being collected anonymously, and results will be publicly reported in aggregate with all potentially identifying information removed.
